In conjunction with our annual pilgrimage to Washington to express our solidarity with our racial demographic it is time to increase our ability to be heard, with the weight or our numbers and the influence we control in and around our communities.
Political power in Washington is wielded, not passively negotiated. In this climate of partyline posturing and unprecedented gridlock, our ability to advocate and activate for those issues that concern us most is a consistant challenge and a critical goal .
The questions we must ask are:

Lastly, what role should we have played ?
An army of Kappa men on Capital Hill is a great symbolic measure, but we can easily blend into the crowd of factions lobbying for this or that. KAPPANATION is another tool to strike a blow in the fights that we are waging.
